Nichols Electric Inc. a Colorado Corporation has been engaged in electrical contracting in the four corners area since 1946.  The company primarily does commercial construction i.e.: Hospitals, schools, shopping centers, office buildings, retirement centers, multi-family residential, correctional facilities, airports and municipal projects.  We also are involved in industrial work such as compressor stations, pipeline and instrumentation work, substation construction and primary work.  The company also performs maintenance work on a daily or contract basis.

Nichols Electric has had an office in Durango since 1946.  The company moved into its current location at 128 Stewart Street, Durango Colorado 81303 in 1979.  Nichols Electric also owns a subsidiary company, Howard Electric Inc of New Mexico whose address is 2084 E. Frontage Rd, Page, AZ with another office in Gallup, NM.  Nichols purchased Howard Electric in April 1994.  Though both companies are individual corporations they work very closely together and the assets of both companies can be used if needed.  Between the three companies we have a field staff as high as 180 electricians and apprentices that we use to support our projects.  The majority of the work on the Navajo Nation is managed through the Gallup or Page office, though some is done through Nichols Electric depending on the project location and work backlog.

Nichols Electric holds the following active licenses: Colorado #47, New Mexico #018597 and Arizona #072803 while Howard Electric holds New Mexico #011058 and Arizona license #086584.  All three states require a qualifying person for the license.  In all cases we have multiple qualifiers for each license.
